๐Ÿงฑ Pool Tile & Resurface
Orlando Orlando & Orlandoamp; Central Florida

Calcium and waterline tile cleaning, broken tile replacement, and full resurfacing โ€” Pebble Tec, plaster, and quartz. We turn tired pools into pools that look brand new.

Plaster vs. Quartz vs.
Pebble Tec

Orlando's hard water, sun exposure, and 100ยฐF+ summers eat pool surfaces faster than mild climates. The right surface determines how often you'll be doing this again. Here's how the three main options compare:

Free On-Site Assessment

We walk the pool with you to evaluate the existing surface, tile line condition, calcium buildup, and any structural concerns. We measure the pool exactly, identify what needs replacing vs. what can be cleaned, and quote each option (plaster, quartz, Pebble Tec) so you can compare.

2

Drain & Surface Prep

The pool is drained, the existing surface is chipped out where needed, and the substrate is acid-etched and washed. Tile line is removed if you're replacing it. The whole prep stage typically takes 1โ€“2 days for a residential pool.

3

New Tile, Then Surface Application

New waterline tile installed and grouted (typically a 2-day cure). Then the new plaster, quartz, or Pebble Tec is troweled on by a 4โ€“6 person crew in a single day โ€” these surfaces have to go down in one continuous pour to avoid lap lines.

4

Refill & Startup Chemistry

Pool refilled (12โ€“24 hours depending on size). Then a strict 28-day startup chemistry protocol โ€” daily brushing for the first 2 weeks, controlled chlorine and pH, no swimming for 7โ€“14 days. Skipping startup chemistry causes scale, mottling, and voided warranties. We handle every step.

Pool Tile & Resurface FAQ

For a typical 15,000-gallon residential pool: white plaster runs $3,500โ€“$5,000, quartz finishes run $5,000โ€“$7,000, and Pebble Tec runs $6,500โ€“$9,000 (or $9,000โ€“$13,000 for premium colors and PebbleSheen finishes). New waterline tile adds $1,200โ€“$2,500 depending on tile choice and linear footage. The total project for a tile + Pebble Tec combo is usually $8,000โ€“$12,000. We give you exact numbers after measuring your pool.
Plaster pools typically last 7โ€“10 years in Orlando's hard water before they need refinishing โ€” you'll see roughness, etching, dark stains, and exposed aggregate. Quartz finishes last 10โ€“14 years. Pebble Tec lasts 15โ€“20+ years and is what we recommend for most Orlando pools. Your weekly chemistry, calcium hardness, and how often you drain affect surface life significantly. A well-maintained Pebble Tec finish often outlives the original pump and heater.
Orlando's tap water is some of the hardest in the country (250โ€“400 ppm calcium). Over time, calcium deposits as a white crust on the waterline tile โ€” sometimes 1/4" thick. We remove it with bead-blasting or pressure-washing with a calcium-specific solution: $400โ€“$900 depending on severity and pool size. We also adjust your weekly chemistry to slow re-formation. Severe scaling sometimes requires tile replacement.
Yes โ€” spot tile replacement is one of our most common jobs. We match existing tile when possible (we keep a sample library) or recommend a complementary replacement when an exact match isn't available. Single-tile replacement runs $35โ€“$75 per tile installed. If more than 20% of the tile line is damaged, we usually recommend replacing the entire waterline โ€” it's more cost-effective and looks uniformly clean.
Drain to swim: usually 14โ€“21 days. Drain and prep takes 1โ€“2 days. Tile (if replacing) takes 1 day install plus 1โ€“2 days cure. Surface application is a single day. Refill takes 12โ€“24 hours. Then the 14-day no-swim startup chemistry period (we still service and brush daily). After day 14 most pools are swim-ready, with a 28-day full cure to reach final hardness. We keep you updated daily during the project.
Yes โ€” Pebble Tec offers a 10-year limited warranty on their finishes, but only when installed by an Authorized Pebble Tec Applicator (we are) AND with proper startup chemistry (we handle that too). We register every Pebble Tec install with the factory and provide you the warranty certificate. Most Orlando homeowners don't realize: DIY or unauthorized installer work voids the warranty entirely.
